"This Dream Of Mine"
Sitting beside the sea,
In a comfortable lawn chair,
Is the best place to be,
When trying to relax,
While on vacation.

Oh  how I long,
For a day just like that.
To wade among the tide,
And bask in the sunshine.

It seems that I am  drawn,
To the sea and sand.
To watch the birds flit to and fro,
As they seek a meal so fine.

I dream of days of liesure,
To watch the tides come in.
The calming effect of the sound,
As the sea makes its round.

Sweet laughter of children,
As they play in the sand.
Building castles and moats,
Or maybe digging clams.

Not a sound can be heard,
Of all the city racket.
No car horns nor sirens,
Not even the smell of fumes in the air.

If I could live by the sea,
My woes would be few.
I would sit and watch the sun,
Rise and set every day.

With a cool drink by my side,
I would enjoy the warm breezes.
Dozing off to the sounds of the tide,
As it rushes back and forth across the sand.

Being lazy all summer long,
Just to relax and enjoy time.
Letting the housework go undone,
Cause the maid will do it all.

I truly yearn so,
For summer to come along.
Maybe this year I can find the time,
For this dream of mine.
