"There Is Beauty Out There"
Every morning I open my eyes,
There's a new world out there.
Sometimes it's rainy or snowy,
But mostly it's full of sunshine.
Someone once told me,
'Open your eyes...
You might like what's in front of you'.
To me this is nothing more,
Than that person's inability to cope
With life themselves.
My eyes are open,
And full of wonder.
I sometimes see things,
Not too many can comprehend.
Even tho this world of ours,
Is sometimes heaped in evil,
I still hold hope in my heart.
Life isn't so terribly bad,
If you can see a little beauty out there.
Thru the Winter seasons,
I can see a crisp blue sky.
A little too cold for me sometimes,
But at least there's no bugs to bother me.
Spring and Summer can be
A litte horrifying,
In my little part of the country.
But after the storms have passed,
It feels clean and refressed once again.
I really don't like the Fall,
Due to trees lossing their leaves
And the end of aromatic flowers.
But that is when the squirrels appear,
To collect their winter food supply
And cavort around the yard.
It's not just the seasons
That pass every year,
But the people that make
A difference too.
Sometimes I come across a person
Who's so terribly wrong and rude.
Then there's the others
Who I consider my life-long friends.
I do have hardships
In my life too,
But it only makes me stronger,
And I'm able to handle
Whatever circumstances come my way.
Maybe I do live in a world of my own,
And I prefer to see only my little corner.
It's not that I don't care
About what goes on out there,
It's just that I don't want to know
About those things that scare.
If I could change this old world,
I would if I could.
But God hasn't seen fit
To give me that power as yet,
And I suspect he never would.
So I sit in my little corner
Of this world of mine,
And stay in my own self delusions.
For I do prefer to see a clear blue sky,
And tell myself only
That there is Beauty out there.
