"The Angel"

Once upon a time,
There was an Angel,
Who lived in the upper heavens,
And was very well loved by God.

It was her 100th year,
Of angelic services
To Heaven and God,
And he was very well pleased.

God called the Angel before Him,
And gave her many praises,
As He knew she had done well
With her services to Him.

"It is time for you to leave,
This place you've always known,
And put yourself in service
On Earth".. He said.

So on to Earth she was sent,
And dwelled there for years;
No one knew she was an Angel,
Doing good deeds in God's name.

Years passed slowly for the Angel,
But she never wavered,
From helping many people
Accomplish their dreams.

Everyone who saw her,
Never knew her name;
Only that she smiled a lot,
And never complained.

No one ever really knew her,
Because that would defeat the cause.
She only traveled from place to place,
Doing God's deeds.

After so long a millenium,
God called the Angel back;
Saying.. "You've done well my child,
Now you must rest".

He gave her a little white house,
Situated between peach groves,
And there she rested,
For the first time in ages.

The Angel knew she had done well,
Because God said so.
And she knew the time would come,
When He would call upon her again.

She would serve Him well,
As she's always done,
And never complain,
Because she loved Him so.

If people could be,
Only in part like that Angel,
Then the world would be,
A better place to dwell.
