"Storms"
Tis the season,
But not for Christmas.
It's that time of year,
When black clouds appear.

Spring is a lovely time,
But holds lots of danger.
No matter where you live,
Everyone gets a little terror.

Warm and sunny one day,
Cold and cloudy the next.
This only signals,
Weather changes we get.

Warm and cold air,
Move in separate directions.
This creates contrasting patterns,
And brings clouds asunder.

Rain is fine,
If it's slow and warm.
But when winds start to blow,
It sometimes brings a storm.

In my part of the world,
We see many spring and summer storms.
Most are merely harmless,
But some are dangerous and deadly.

We don't have huricanes,
Nor earthquakes or tidalwaves.
What we do have are tornados,
That plague us in the Spring.

When Spring arrives with a fury,
All we can do is duck and cover.
There is nothing we can do,
To stop a destructive tornado.

A tornado can touch down,
Anywhere it pleases.
It can skip a house here,
Or demolish the next one there.

There is a path,
A tornado follows.
Mostly from the southwest,
And heads to the northeast.

Whichever way one heads,
You don't want to be in it's path.
Head for the hills or the nearest ditch,
Or find a shelter till it's passed.

I have lived in a State,
Where tornados strike each year.
However I've not been to a shelter,
Since I was a very small child.

I've been known to stand outside,
Watching the dark clouds as they pass.
For some reason I become exilerated,
When I know a storm is coming near.

What unnerves me the most,
Is what I cannot see at night.
But yet there I am,
Standing vigil just the same.

Even tho I love Spring time,
It can bring an evilness with it too.
It seems that sometimes,
God lets the devil do his due.

It is so very strange,
When you think about it.
All the beauty and new life of Spring,
That it can become so ugly too.

But no matter what comes our way,
I'll still prefer Spring to Winter.
It is so very natural you see,
That with good there's also some bad.

Whatever Mother Nature hurls,
I will endure with grace.
I will still enjoy Spring the most,
But I will also keep a watch for Spring storms.
