There's more to life than just me,
As I look about and around.
Somewhere there is someone
Whose needs are greater than mine.
I tried my best not to be selfish,
But sometimes it was very difficult;
Especially when I spent foolishly
Not thinking of others' needs.
So I prayed to God above
That He help me to be generous,
And when I seem to want things,
I should think first and be satisfied.
As the years weighed me down,
I have learned to be frugal;
God helped me in that regard,
So now I think first before I spend.
I try to donate to charities;
Not because it is tax deductable,
But because I want to do it,
And it does make me feel good.
I look at things differently now,
Since God has changed my life;
I am no longer totally selfish.
What's more, I am satisfied!
