"Our Own Memories"
Memories of my childhood
I do not speak of;
Too many heartaches
I dare not look upon.

Memories of my first marriage,
I do not care to think of;
Life with him ended sadly,
But left me with two small sons.

Memories of the years
Of which I raised my sons;
Most are of joyfulness
And loving good times.

Memories of two special years
In which someone new came;
Quiet and caring he was
And understanding to an nth degree.

Memories of such preciousness
Are these past twenty-one years;
Living with this man
I call my husband.

In the years that follow now,
We will make even more memories.
We will bask in our love
For many more days ahead.

Until the Lord calls our names,
We will cherish this life we have.
We will share our joys and love,
And make more of our own memories.
