Exploding lights in the ether,
Signals a beginning of something new.
Or maybe it only means,
That a star ceased to exist.
Worlds begin,
And worlds end.
Who knows the reasons,
They just do.
Our world began with a Bang,
We know not when it will end.
We can only hope we will see,
Our grandchildren fully grown.
Scientists say our world is weakening;
No wonder that it is.
We've just about used it all,
And we will pay the price.
Will we become enlightened,
To late to stop it?
Or can we save what is left,
And continue into our next phase.
I worry that it may be too late,
And our grandchildren will see the end.
Then all that is left,
Is but a simple whimper.
There's too much unclean air,
And too much unclean ground.
One wonders how.. you know,
We can breathe or even see.
People write about this all the time,
But it seems no one really cares.
They keep dumping slimy stuff,
And contaminating our atmosphere.
We have to conserve our energies,
And recycle what is already done.
There is not much left of this world,
For it is shriveling up and dying.
Some say God created this earth,
Some say it happened by chance.
Whomever is right or wrong,
Does not matter any more.
The damage has been done,
And cannot be reversed.
All we can do is try to save,
All there is that's left.
We have to gather unto ourselves,
And stop the strifes and wars.
Only peace will bring about,
A collective effort to save our world.
We must take the time,
To look forward and not back.
For it all depends on us,
To change this Earth and our future.
