There came a time in my busy life,
When I felt something wasn't quite right.
I have my family and God in my heart,
But still something was quite amiss.
I went about to evaluate,
To see just what I was missing.
I tried different things you see,
But after a while bored I became.
I couldn't quite grasp
This empty feeling I had inside.
One day I went shopping at the local mall,
And gazed at all the window displays there.
Walking along the floor so slow,
I spied a different kind of store.
Instead of dresses and shoes galore,
I saw machines all shinning there.
Thru the entrace I did go,
And was encountered by a salesman.
He saw the look upon my face,
And he knew right away I was sold.
The product I saw was a gleaming computer,
And all around were gadgets glowing.
I tell you I walked out that store,
Looking back with such a longing.
I could hardly wait for tomorrow to arrive,
Because a man would come,
And set up my brand new machine.
I spent my husband's next two paychecks,
But I knew he wouldn't mind.
Happyness welled up inside of me,
As I waited impatiently
For my wonderfull machine.
After my computer was installed,
And the man gave me some clues to use;
I could hardly wait to begin.
I read the book that came with this machine,
And learned a few things here and there.
Then I turned on the computer, signed on
and received my very own email name.
Oh joy...... Oh fun,
I was finally really ready to begin.
I got on-line and saw a list
With so many choices to make.
What I decided on to click
Still amazes even me;
Just this one little thing
Has brought me so much joy.
You see, I entered a place called a chat room;
I was envited to join their group,
Chat and have lots of fun.
I never knew there was a place,
Where people could go,
And not leave their own space.
Now I've been chatting for a few years;
I've only met a few people face to face.
Still I regard each and every one,
With fondness, caring
And yes, lots of love.
We share songs and midi's,
And trade lots of macros.
We also share our heartaches and joys as well.
But all in all I really love
Seeing their nicks appear each day.
We chat quite awhile,
And sometimes joke around.
Before I know it,
It's time to shut down.
I say "Goodbye"
To all my friends,
And promise to come back
Again sometime the next day.
After saying "hugs and smoochies",
I see typed there "byebye"
from all my friends.
As I leave this loving room,
And wish them all a very good night,
My heart is filled with such joy,
It brings tears of love to my eyes.
This is my life now,
Filled to the max with lots of love.
I not only have my family
And God in my heart,
But now I have the love
Of my chat friends too.
Some may say hatefull things
About computer chat rooms,
But that's because they don't know
The feeling of having so many friends.
I've never known people like these,
And I love them all;
My wonderful chat friends.
