"Korlaron IV"
Many years have long passed,
And some of the Korlaronians are gone.
Age caught up with them you see,
But some did leave their legacy behind.
The children that were born on board their ship,
Have all grown to adulthood now.
Not as many of the originals are left,
To carry on as they had hoped.
Some were lost in a confrontation,
With a hostile species of no origins.
Others just faded with age,
In hopes of reincarnation.
They found other planets unpopulated,
But those were not what they sought.
So they replenished their lauders,
And flew away once again.
There were a few worlds,
With inhabitants there.
But the Korlaronians decided,
To not make their acquaintance.
There was no need to seek out,
Other peoples for their help.
For they knew their way,
And needed no assistance.
Finally one easy day,
The scanners did announce.
The planet they sought was in sight,
And everyone shouted with glee.
It was still very far off yet,
And would take another month.
That was a short enough time tho,
For they needed to prepare.
As they drew nearer still,
The scanners gathered its data.
The Korlaronians waited anxously,
And excitement was high.
After the scanner's data was analyzed by their leader,
The news was brought to the rest.
Bad tidings was evident,
In his saddened haggard face.
The planet was in the correct sector,
And in the right galaxy.
But what they could not see with their eyes,
The scanners did reveal.
Their leader explained to his people,
What they would eventually see.
There was no life on that planet,
That was slowly coming into view.
It was decided by their leader,
That they would go into orbit.
He had to see with his own eyes,
Why a glowing blue planet had no life.
At that point in everyone's mind,
A sadness grew ever strong.
They hoped and prayed,
That the planet below was not Earth.
