"Keepers Of Humanity"
People everywhere,
But we do not see.
People passing by,
But we do not smile.

Soft rains that fall,
But we do not enjoy.
Flowers blooming in the Spring,
But we do not stop to smell.

Life is good in our Country,
But we gripe about our fate.
Freedom rings all over Here,
But we do not appreciate.

There's starving children Here,
But some give over There.
There's homeless people Here,
But we only pass them by.

It is so sad to say,
But I am as guilty as the rest.
We enjoy our lives in this Country,
But we do not share the rest.

We complain about our Government,
Giving away all our tax dollars.
But yet we do nothing to help,
Our fellow persons Here.

For a Country so rich as Ours,
We have become a bit selfish.
Always thinking of ourselves first,
But not of our fellow citizens.

If we are not careful,
We may lose what we have.
Then we will become the ones,
Who need help from other lands.

What does it hurt,
To share just a little?
Give what you can,
And give of yourself.

We cannot survive in this world,
If we do not share.
Let us become,
Keepers of humanity.
