"If I Lived"

If I lived by the ocean

I could listen to the waves.

The sound would soothe me

And calm my weary thoughts.

If I lived by the sea

I could feel the soft breezes.

My skin would cool

And let me enjoy the days.

If I lived in the forrest

I could see all the trees.

The lazy movements of leaves

Would give me peace.

If I lived in Heaven

I could forget all life.

Just to be what I want to be

And wait till the end of time.

But I live here on Earth

With all it's troubles,

And I have to deal with life

As so many others do the same.

I take one day at a time

And try to do my best,

Living my life

With God in my heart.

That's all anyone can do,

To do with whatever life brings.

Knowing that God is there

Makes it mostly worth living for.

I do like living,

Don't get me wrong.

I just don't like seeing

Everything else that's not so right.

God gave me the strength

To go on as I should.

For there is a reason

I am here at all.
