"Icy Weather"
January brought ice & sleet
That froze all that it touched.
Termperatures plummeted near zero,
And heating bills went sky high.

Cars slid here and there,
Narrowly missing one another.
Although a few did meet discordantly,
And some lives were spared.

Ice on the walk, trees and streets,
Sparkled like shimmering diamonds.
But I was not fooled by the beauty,
Nor did I venture out.

It would have been crazy to venture out,
Among people who didn't know.
But some did find out,
Just how dangerous it was.

Myself, I stayed inside
Out of that miserable weather,
For I do not like Winter,
As I've said many, many times before.

The cold seeps thru my skin,
And freezes these old bones,
Until Mr. Arthur visits,
And brings pain to my joints.

I guess it's God's way
Of letting us know,
That no one can control
Everything in life.

However, I sure would like it,
If He would be lenient sometimes,
When Mother Nature come alongs,
And brings Winter's wonderland.

Anyway, I bide my time,
And wait for better days.
I pray for God's mercy,
And hope he says "yes".
