"Faith In God"

Different societies require different beliefs, And consessions have been made For one that is new. Does that mean everyone should conform To one or the other? Be careful of what has been done Or loss of freedom will ensue. Presures from officials do weigh, But none should allow what is wrong, Else one would lose one's rights. Many have stood by and watched While laws were passed that interfere. Laws that take away our dignities, And makes you believe that it's right. Do not let them lead you into sin! Others try to interfere and bring about wars, That destroy many people's way of thought. Still others try to convince everyone That there is no wrong or right And that God does not exist. Do not listen to nay sayers, But keep to the standards. Do not allow anyone to push you aside, Just to satisfy their evilness. Be strong and resolute in God! Keep the Faith that God has freely given; He's asked nothing in return Except that we believe in Him only. Do not allow another to say he's god, For that is the evil one who speaks. There was, and is, only one God, And no other can stand in His shadow. He gave His only son, Jesus, for our sins So that we may be free of evil things. Do not let evil to return to your soul! Keep your soul pure and clean, And be sure to keep the Faith. Do not let your heart be swayed, By those who would destroy And leave you unholy. Worship God as you know Him, And keep sin at arms length. Keep away those that would harm, And let not their ways enter. Remember, God knows your heart always. by Jann Newland ©January 2006
