"Borrowed Dreams
Kitty cats and little mice,
And pretty birds all around,
Singing and dancing,
To songs melodic.

All this is around
a beautiful  princess
Dressed in blue
And a sparkling crown.

A movie so delightful
Brings forth lovely dreams
Of fanciful love
And richness abound.

No one can doubt
What the mind wants.
Every little girl
Wishes about the same.

In early days of innocence,
Girls were taught things
Of love and marriage
And beautiful children three.

To stray from this
was thought a little terrible,
But times change ever so
And dreams become different.

Most of us still hold
to old fashion days gone by
And we hold true
to those old dreams.

We watch old movies
And become glass-eyed
As we sing along with joy
And grow fond of those we see.

When the movie is over
And the screen is dark,
We still stare with wonder
Of a life that could be.

To dream a dream of fancy
And all it's richness,
But we do it just the same.
We also know it's just  borrowed dreams.
