"Blowing In The Wind"
The wind has been strong,
About my little corner of this Earth;
I wonder if it's a blessing,
Or something bad this way comes.

Usually the wind blows heavy
During a few months a year.
But it seems that it's been this way,
And continues to be so.

One wonders what's in store,
For we have damaged our world.
The winds are telling us something,
But we are not listening it seems.

The growing seasons are shorter,
And the winters are ever longer;
I can't imagine anything
That will bring us back to calmness.

Do you think it's Mother Nature's way
Of telling us something;
Should we heed her warnings
And do what must be done?

Maybe we've gone too far,
And can't turn the tides back.
I tend to believe that we can,
At least I hope there's a way.

All the politicians don't care it seems,,
They and Industries keep on keeping on.
This world breathes their pesticides and poisons,
And don't care why the soil is spoiled.

It's no wonder our health is bad,
From the foods that are grown.
The soil is poisoned for many a year,
But  did we see it coming?

Lacking interest causes failure;
You say "what can I do".
We must all speak out,
And make "them" hear.

It may be a little late,
But then again maybe not.
I'd hate to think all I'm doing,
Is continually blowing in the wind.
