Oh Spring where art thou?
Why do you hide your face so?
You tempt us with warmness,
Only to take it away the next day.
I sit here so close now,
Freezing my tushie and toesies.
I want to plan out door things,
And romp among the posies.
Mother Nature so cruel,
Have you frozen your smile?
Give us a break won't you please,
And send some warm sun down here.
We've had enough Winter,
Can't you see?
Our fingers feel like ice And turning purple,
And our nose hairs are stiff too.
Last week I saw a robin,
Flitting around my yard.
But today it's gone to hiding,
Somewhere south again.
It feels as tho it's been eons,
Since last Spring was here.
I can no longer remember,
The joy I felt last year.
They say Earth is warming,
But I see no evidence here.
My bones are rattling it's frame,
From all the cold we ever suffer.
So I guess I must wait still more,
For the weeks to evenly pass.
But I am left ever wanting,
And still begging for Spring.
